
1950s cream broderie anglaise dress
Fabulously feminine lace day dress!
This dress reminds me of vanilla ice cream on a hot day... fashioned from the most delicious broderie anglaise, this classic 1950s dress has a feast of features: sweet Peter Pan collar, short sleeves with turned back cuffs, metal side zip and a full, swishy skirt. The bodice has a top layer of broderie anglaise and then a more opaque fabric underneath from the bust down. The skirt has the same two layers of fabric, and finishes in a beautifully scalloped hem. Measurements: (taken from garment laid flat with measurement doubled)
Armpit to armpit: 91 cm/36 inches
Waist: 66 cm/26 inches
Condition: Good vintage condition (see the Vintage Clothing Condition Guide for more information) Around the waist the fabric has discoloured ever so slightly. At the front on the hem, there are a couple of small brown marks which are very hard to see when the dress hangs in folds (and they MIGHT come out).
